Gaillardia Fest is Coming

Gaillardia Fest Flyer

After 16 years of Riverfest, Gaillardia Fest is taking root on Saturday, April 27, 2019, and it’s bringing Texas State spirit with it. Gaillardia Fest is the newest Texas State tradition growing out of the annual Riverfest. The event takes its name from the official Texas State University flower, the Gaillardia, and offers an opportunity for students to celebrate being a part of the Bobcat community.

The event will feature musical headliners, Alison Wonderland, Danileigh, Nightly, and Malachi; as well as student performances, carnival games, an esports tournament, and many other fun activities taking place throughout the day.

Attendees are advised to wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes. It will also be a good idea to bring a reusable water bottle to fill at the water station that will be on location to help everyone stay hydrated. The event is free and open to anyone with a college I.D., but attendees should bring money to buy food and concessions at the food trucks that will be onsite.

During Gaillardia Fest there will be student performances and a Super Smash Bros esports tournament, both of which still have open registration online and offer the chance to win Amazon gift cards. Those interested in performing can submit their performance video for a chance to compete on the main stage!

Get ready for fun, because Gaillardia Fest arrives at Bobcat Stadium West Lot at 4pm on Saturday, April 27, 2019. There will be transportation on continuous loop from the student center to the event from 3:30 -10:45pm.
