Posting Materials
Texas State University permits a variety of posting methods to promote programs, events, organizations, and services across campus. This page explains who may use each posting method, required approvals, design standards, content requirements, and available posting locations.
Before You Begin
- Registered Student Organizations (RSOs): May post approved materials in designated campus posting locations. Physical materials must be reviewed and approved before posting.
- University Departments: May post official university information and promotional materials. No LBJ Student Center approval is required for departmental materials.
- External Organizations, businesses, vendors, and individuals: May not post materials on campus unless sponsored by an authorized university department or RSO.
Required Elements
- Full and visible name of the registered student organization or university department.
- Contact information including email address and/or phone number.
- Additional Event Specific Statements
- Date, time, and location of the event, program, service, and/or engagement.
- Any material promoting a specific campus program or event must include the exact ADA text verbatim: Persons with disabilities who would like to request accommodations or have questions about physical access may contact [insert email and telephone number of the program/event sponsor] in advance of the program or visit.
- If a posting promotes an event featuring an external guest speaker, it must prominently feature the verbatim disclaimer: “The views expressed by the speaker or the student organization are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of Texas State University. Use of Texas State University facilities for this event and the promotion of this event does not imply endorsement by the university.”

RSO Approval Process
- Insure all required elements are on your prepared materials.
- Submit all materials to the Event Services Office, Suite 211, 2nd Floor, LBJ Student Center. (Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)
- Submit at least 3 business days before intended posting date.
- Receive approval stamp before posting.
- Post for up to 10 university days or through the business day following the event.
Department Responsibilities
- Follow Texas State University branding requirements and include the appropriate unit logo.
- Do not use generative AI to create official university promotional artwork, graphics, logos, or written content.
- Maintain and remove outdated materials.
