Frequently Asked Questions

  • This reception is semi-formal and we encourage you to attend in business casual attire. For those who are coming from class, you will not be turned away for not dressing up. 

  • Business casual attire consists of khakis, slacks, or skirts; blouses, polo shirts, or shirts with a collar; and closed-toe shoes; full suits are not necessary. Business casual attire excludes jeans, tennis shoes, shorts, tight or short skirts, flip flops, and sweatshirts.

  • A reception is an occasion held to welcome someone or to celebrate a particular event. In this case, the college deans are welcoming (receiving) their colleges' Dean's List recipients in celebration. 

  • At a come-and-go event, attendees arrive when they are able to and leave when they are ready - within the time parameters of the event. Attendees are not expected to be at the event the full time it is running. 

  • There will be light snacks, so plan to eat a late lunch beforehand or dinner afterward. 

  • This reception has multiple stations but there is no program, meaning there is no schedule or speaker. Attendees will go through the stations (including but not limited to: check-in, meeting their dean, snack tables, and photo booth) and take their leave when they have visited all the stations they wish to. 

  • Attendees are not expected to be at the event the full time it is running. Attendees arrive when they are able to and leave when they are ready - within the time parameters of the event. 

  • Family and friends are welcome! We ask that each student not bring more than three guests since there is limited space at the event location. 

  • Each college does something a little different for their students. We have compiled information on certificates for each college which can be found here. For more information about your certificate, we recommend you contact your college directly. 

  • RSVP deadline - TBD
