LBJ Student Center South Entrance Grand Opening

LBJ south entrance is now open

Ask any student at Texas State how they feel about the south side entrance of the LBJ Student Center opening and they’ll probably respond with a sigh of relief. The south entrance celebration on January 21 proved to be a highly anticipated event, with 250 t-shirts given away in celebration. Bobcats can now get from a study date at Alkek to a game of pool at George’s in as little as five minutes. After almost two years, the completion of the LBJ Student Center expansion construction signifies the beginning of a new chapter for Bobcats. Countless hours from diligent workers and advocates for the students at Texas State have given our student center a completely new look just in time for the new year!

Many are excited about the spacious new ballroom to hold more of your favorite Student Involvement events, banquets, and conferences. Catch a picture-perfect view of campus from the balcony located on the third floor, and peer through our new high-tech windows equipped with photoreceptive cells that dim with the sunlight. Possibly the best part of the completed renovation is the revival of the beloved amphitheater. If you’re in need of a new place to study, trying to connect with nature between classes, or want to listen to some new music at SACA’s bi-weekly Tunes at Noon events, then this is the spot to be. Not only is it located in the heart of campus, making it incredibly accessible, but it also holds special memories from previous Bobcats. Head over to LBJ today and check out all the exciting changes for yourself!
